The Widest Challenger? Ultra SRT's 1500 HP SHIROKAI Widebody

Picking up where I left off: showing what I've been working on while I was quiet here.

This Dodge Challenger belongs to Jonathan Rimbo, better known online as Ultra SRT (@ultrasrt). The widebody on it? That's ours. Made by us at SHIROKAI.

And yeah, seeing my kit on a build like this feels pretty damn good :)

A Challenger was never going to stay stock

Honestly, the Challenger is the perfect victim for this kind of abuse. Huge coupe. Long hood. Heavy, brick-wall front end. It rolls off the line looking like it showed up to settle something.

And then someone comes along and decides that's not nearly enough.

7 liters. 2 turbos. 1500 horsepower.

Familiar feeling. I get it ;)

Jonathan's version came out pitch black, wide and mean. Basically a Batmobile, if Bruce Wayne got tired of custom military hardware and decided it was time to buy a proper American car.

This thing makes more than 1500 hp. A 7.0-liter HEMI, two turbos, and nitrous on top. At some point Jonathan looked at it and thought: "Not bad. But we could send it a little harder."

Why the width actually matters here

Building a monster motor is only half the job. Then you have to put all that power into the pavement. Preferably through the rear tires, and not by turning them into a smoke cloud at the first intersection.

That's where the width stops being just a look and starts doing a job.

Those massive slicks have to fit somewhere, and something has to cover them. That's where our kit comes in. To be clear, the plastic itself doesn't add a single ounce of grip. What it does is let you run a seriously wide wheel and tire setup and wrap it in a body that looks like it was meant to be that way.

For me, the most interesting part is the proportions. I've always loved cars that take up the whole lane. When the body width, the wheels and the stance all come together into one picture. The Challenger is big enough to really play with that, and Jonathan's car shows exactly why we make kits like this.

Our part of the story

I'm not taking credit for the whole build. Jonathan built the car. Our part of this story is the SHIROKAI widebody, and that's it.

But that part still makes me happy every time. First you spend ages working on the shape of a panel. Then it becomes a real part. Then it ships across the ocean and ends up on somebody's absolutely unhinged project. That person pours their time, money and taste into it. And your work helps the car look exactly the way they pictured it.

And of course, the car made its traditional appearance at SEMA 2025. Moments like that are the reason I do this.

Got a Challenger and been itching to make it wider? Check out our Dodge Challenger widebody kit. Running a Charger instead? We've got one for the Charger too.

So what do you think of this big black barn? Or is a Challenger wide enough from the factory, and anything more is just a crime against parking spaces? ;)
